Who we are

Our ambition is to become a leading digital health business, helping people to diagnose all acute diseases. We have already developed a diagnostics tool using the lateral flow platform for COVID-19. Significantly, this test is less invasive, highly accurate and focuses on live cases of transmissible virus.

Job overview

We are now looking for a Quality Control Scientist to undertake QC of incoming raw and internally manufactured materials. This will be a key role within manufacturing based in our Oxford manufacturing facility. You will be part of the Quality Assurance department and will report into the head of QA/RA.

Responsibilities

  • Follow QC testing procedures to test parameters and performance of nanoparticles and conjugates in a biomedical service/manufacturing laboratory setting.
  • Complete QC records to ensure continued compliance with GxP requirements.
  • Manage QC materials and consumables.
  • To assist the scientists and lab manager in equipment validation. 
  • Utilise a range of methods and techniques for material quality assessment, including pH and UV Vis spectroscopy.
  • Work independently to manage release of raw materials and finished goods in a timely manner based on manufacturing timescales.
  • Assistance and management of non-conformities including root cause analysis. 
  • Working and communicating effectively with other teams.
  • Interact with the QA/RA team in order to meet regulatory requirements and ISO 13485 laboratory standard.

Experience

  • Science based degree, preferably with a high chemistry, biochemistry or biological science content
  • Laboratory experience in a regulated environment
  • Good numeric and organisational skills and time keeping. 
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.


Desirable, but not essential:

  • Exposure to QC processes
  • Knowledge of ISO 13485 or ISO 9001 and GxP.
